Rawalpindi: The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has announced a comprehensive traffic plan to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety during the Christmas and Quaid-e-Azam Day celebrations on December 24 and 25. This initiative, aimed at facilitating citizens and reducing traffic congestion, reflects the CTP’s commitment to maintaining order and safety during these important national and religious events.
To execute this plan effectively, 139 officers and personnel, including four DSPs, have been assigned for midnight duties and anti-one-wheeling enforcement. Additionally, 297 traffic police personnel will manage traffic throughout the day. The team comprises 12 Circle Officers, 52 Senior Traffic Wardens, 168 Traffic Wardens, and 65 Traffic Assistants. These personnel have been specially instructed by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Benish Fatima to remain vigilant and proactive in managing traffic flow.
Special Arrangements at Key Locations
More than 50 traffic officers have been deployed at churches, parks, and other critical venues to ensure the safety and convenience of event participants. These personnel will assist with maintaining traffic flow, guiding pedestrians, and responding swiftly to emergencies.
The CTP has also issued an appeal to the public to cooperate by following traffic rules and officers’ instructions. Motorists are urged to plan routes in advance and avoid parking within 100 meters of event locations. For pedestrians, the CTP recommends using designated crosswalks and adhering to traffic signals for their safety.
