If any Muslim keeps a single fast in the month of Muharram he will receive reward equal to 30 fasts. Fasting in the month of Muharram is not mandatory it is totally on the choice of Muslims. There is great merit and reward of Muharram fasts so Muslims need to take advantage of this opportunity. The 10th day of Muharram is Ashura and known as Youm-e-Ashora the day of martyrdom of Hussain. Ahura is a day of public processions and grief for the Muslim community. During the entire day different mourn activates are conducted in all Muslim countries.
